Greetings on this Wednesday evening!
I hope you ladies are all in a great place in your lives. If you’re at the end of the semester like I am… just know I’ll be praying for you. No seriously, I know your pain. My professor actually shared something with everyone the other day, and it honestly stuck with me. She said “you’ve done this before so you can do it again.” As simple as it sounds, it’s not so simple to always apply. But I’m gonna do it. In my head, I’m like you’re damn right I’m gonna do it again. I’m gonna study as much as I can and ace these finals like I’ve done in the past. I just have to maintain that same mind set, as should you. I mean our lives aren’t really that stressful, we just make it that way. Am I right? We exaggerate our situations.. I know I do. (Just a tad bit) At the end of the day, we are all smart and capable of so much. As long as we have this tunnel vision, we’ll make it out!…. alive. Just kidding. (No one’s suffering here) not like my grades are… I’m joking again if you haven’t caught on. This is just a little encouragement and humor for those who can relate to my situation.
You’re probably wondering why this post is titled “The Woman You’re Becoming,” and here’s why. In this journey of life, we all take risks, we lose friends, relationships, and we are even pushed out of our comfort zones… Despite all of this hardship we should always remember to stick to ourselves and the women we all have yet to become. I’ll tell you this once and only once. Choose yourself before you choose anyone or anything else. Take care of yourself first. Don’t lose yourself in the midst of this life where materialistic things matter a little too much and true feelings are avoided.
Happy Wednesday everyone!
Though Wednesday isn’t the best day of the week… we can admire that it’s closer to Friday which is more than Monday will ever be! Haha… so I read this question somewhere, and it honestly made me think… The type of thinking that consumes so much energy and makes you super hungry inside… yeah that type of thinking process. The question was, if money wasn’t so important, what on God’s green earth would we do with our time? (I added the Gods green earth part) lol… But yeah, the question is simply stated, but for me it took a bit of time to come up with an answer… Throughout this post, I want you guys to think about this same question. If money wasn’t important, will our passions still be our passions? Will our goals still be our same goals? And will our dreams still be our dreams? What would you do with this life we are freely given if money no longer was essential.
Today is THE day! The day when I speak about Embracing YOUR figure, and loving YOURSELF. Our bodies are our temples, we build them up over time, take care of them and admire them. Not only will I be speaking about this subject, but I will also be announcing the Inspirational Women of this Month!!! *applause*
Thank you! So who’s excited?!! I know I am! I love speaking about our bodies because they are such a gift. A gift that we sometimes abuse, mistreat, shame or judge, through ourselves and through others. Our bodies are beautiful NO MATTER WHAT people say. Phew, had to get that off of my chest! No but seriously, though this saying is very common… just take it in for a second or two. Before you end up forgetting and going back to criticizing yourself. I’m the first to admit that there have been many times where I judged my own body or have been judged by others. I’ve received comments about how I’m too skinny… I should gain more weight, and that just made me want to change my figure… I’m not saying it’s wrong to want to better your body, but do it for yourself! Not for the opinions of others. If you like to eat, EAT! If you find it necessary to diet, then diet! Just don’t tell other women their figure isn’t good enough compared to yours or others. Big butts are cute, small butts are cute, flat stomachs are cute, fat stomachs are cute, stretch marks are cute, cellulite is cute, curves are cute! no curves are cute! All of these physical differences are BEAUTIFUL! And all of these things are natural for us. Natural has no difference and “there is no wrong or right way to have a body.”
Helloooooo Beauties and Beasts (in reference to the men reading this too!) 🙂
How is everyone? I assume your great, similar to myself. No I’m not bluffing! I actually had an amazing day today! Speaking of “Beauty and the Beast” I finally got the chance to go see this movie and man I have to tell you I was one step away from crying a river. It was so beautifully thought out, the new songs they’ve added on (which will probably be added to my playlist shortly) just made the movie even better, though I do still love the actual classic itself. Belle appears to be a bright, beautiful, women who willingly sacrificed her own freedom for her fathers. That right there, is nothing but LOVE. Don’t jump to conclusions so easily, I’m not saying you should jeopardize your freedom for other women, (though that will be beyond generous of you) but just give me a few more seconds and you’ll understand why I referenced this enchanting movie.
Today’s title is called “The Beauty of Sacrifice” and I know you’re probably frightened by this topic. Don’t worry, no one is telling you to hurt yourself, cut your heart out of your chest, and give it to someone as a gift. That is not what this is about. This sacrifice that I speak of helps women find their inner self. This sacrifice involves helping others, sacrificing time, effort, and when referencing my two closest friends, their lifestyle proves this to be true. Sacrifice in certain aspects help women grow, glow and develop a loving and caring heart. Similar to Belle’s sacrifice, I have two amazing bestfriends who willingly serve God and aren’t ashamed to let it be known. I’m not bringing religion into the conversation because this isn’t about religion, it’s about relationship.
What’s up lovely’s! One of your fave bloggers here (Oh I’m just kidding) though saying this makes me feel great! My title for this week is inspired by a famous novel, American drama and Academy Award winning film (1999) titled “Girl, Interrupted,” starring Angelina Jolie (aka bae) and Winona Ryder (also bae). These two women are tremendously talented and did an amazing job portraying the author, Susanna Kaysen’s true story. For those who’ve watched the movie we are familiar with some of the scenes, for the most part Angelina Jolie’s staggering performance as Lisa (aka the bad gal). Her character could be described as a rebellious and promiscuous sociopath who wanted her freedom back. This movie in a nut shell sums up the limited choices that women had and though they all had voices, their voices were silenced. I know you’re probably like okay… so what’s the point of all of this? Chill, chill I got this! I promise my point will somewhat make sense. 🙂 Just so you know, I am a lover of classical movies! But don’t worry, I won’t leave this blog and start another about classical movies… unless? *thinking face* Now I’m getting too carried away, back to my point. Read more
Hello beauties! I’m honestly getting the feel for posting on my blog weekly to say the least. So let’s start this. Alright, so today’s theme of interest results in the good and the not so good things that all women face in real life. While some may appear silly, others require more seriousness and support. Overall my goal here is that we as women should accept ourselves for who we are and rise above the misjudgments. Read more
Heyyyyy! What a beautiful day it is to be a woman! And what better day to update a post then today! Today is all about unity, love, women, the black lives matter movement, LGBTQ, Muslim women and clearly for all my feminists out there. (forgive me if I missed anyone). I gotta tell you the truth, I woke up today feeling FLAWLESS… Sorry not sorry for quoting Beyoncé so much… Any way, there’s no better way to describe the passion I sprung out of bed with this morning! It was like I just wanted to climb the highest tower and scream from the top of my lungs how proud I am to be a woman. Though I can’t possibly do that in real life… I am very clumsy, which means there’s a 1000% possibility that I might die… we don’t want that happening… cause then this blog won’t be updated. Unless God can give me access to my very own laptop and wifi? I’m pretty sure He can do that for me…
Today is the day to toot your own horn, embrace each other, have a good time, dance to Beyoncé!…. I seriously have to stop that. We acknowledge other strong women like ourselves and we support them. Today is not about competition… nor should everyday be about it. Sisterhood is what’s most important today and everyday. No matter your skin color, race or ethnicity, if you’re gay or straight, we are all equal and we all should accept each other. I’m seriously about to make myself cry as I write all of this… *Kim Kardashian crying face*… This page is meant for you all! For acceptance, motivation, support, and love. Read more
